Adams, William E.
Mr. William E. Adams was born in the year 1917 and is of Hamden and North Branford, Connecticut, United States. His career included the professions of civil engineer, aeronautical and mechanical engineer, and also product engineer for the U.S. Steel Corporation.
He served on the Board of Directors of the American Contract Bridge League in the 1960s, on the Conneciticut Bridge Association's Board of Directors from 1952 to 1978 (also past President), and on the District Board of Directors from 1955 to 1978.
His victories at the bridge table and at bridge events include:
1953 Winner of National Senior Masters Individual 1960 Placed second in the Open Teams of the New England Regional Championships 1961 Winner of Open Teams of the New England Regional Championships (unconfirmed) 1962 Winner of Mixed Teams of the New England Regional Championships and partnered with R. Sugenheimer 1962 Placed second in the Knockout Teams of the New England Regional Championships 1968 Winner of Open Teams of the New England Regional Championships, but ties for First Place with: T. Griffin and P. Heitner; J. Lowenthal and R. Crown; S. Becker and M. Becker; and partnered with R. Easterbrook
