1) Double : This shows either a one suiter hand with Hearts only (usually 6 cards) or 5+ Hearts and 5+ in a Minor suit. Responder now has the following options:

Pass:

   Suitable hand for defense

  Take out, not suitable for defense, and no Heart fit

Doubler will then bid:

Pass:

   with 5 Clubs and 5 Hearts

2 :

   with 5 Diamonds and 5 Hearts

   with only a Heart suit

   no Major fit; asks overcaller to pass or correct; if overcaller is strong, he can bid 4 /4

5) 2NT: This shows both minors at least 5/5. Responder now has the following options:

   Preference; overcaller still can cuebid with a strong hand

3 /3 :

   Asks overcaller to bid 5 with shortage in the bid suit, else bid 4

4 /4 :

   Roman Key Card Blackwood for the agreed suit
